Catalan dish- Pa amb tomàquet
The famous pan con tomate or pa amb tomaquet in Catalan (bread with tomato) is a very traditional dish in Catalan cuisine. The recipe is very simple but at the same time the pan con tomate is a tasty dish that you simply can’t miss when you visit Barcelona. The pan con tomate is basically bread (usually pa de pagès ‘peasants' bread’) toasted or not with fresh garlic and tomato rubbed over. The bread is then seasoned with delicious Spanish olive oil and salt.
The Catalan pa amb tomaquet or bread with tomato goes perfect with Spanish tortilla, sausages, escalivada (grilled vegetables), cheese, anchovies and many other tapas españolas (cold and hot Spanish appetizers). Enjoy!
